It all started with a hobby designing jewelry, using it
pieces as
gifts and often selling to friends to use as gifts. With increased interest in
my work, I formed a company called "artzy beadz".
Soon there were beads everywhere, all around the house from all
over the world....I had a particular interest in vintage beads.
Then I began the evolution, I decided to learn how to
make glass beads using a torch... new challenges are always welcome.
In the summer of 2000 I attended the William Holland School of
Lapidary Arts for two weeks. There I found my passion....."HOT
GLASS", both lampwork
bead making and glass fusing....I was spell bound by dichroic
glass and could not wait to get home and apply this new
found talent. Wow, the transformation began. Within six months, I semi-retired from public accounting to
pursue my new found passion full time.
My work is currently in
several galleries in North Carolina, Georgia and Florida.
I the lat year I participated in several juried art shows
throughout the southeast. Bigger and better things are to come, there is
just not enough time....my creative juices are flowing too fast
to keep up with..
Who would have ever guessed a CPA could be an artist too?
My clients tease me about "creative accounting".
I have been blessed to have found a new balance in my life that has resulted in great
happiness and joy. I would be remiss if I did not thank my husband,
Chuck, for all of his support (some whining) and my cat, Winnie, for her
continued assistance in all of my projects (including the
computer keyboard).
FIND YOUR PASSION AND MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!
Thanks for checking me
out!
